Ice Cream Tech: A First Timer’s Perspective

The Ice Cream Technology Conference, hosted by IDFA, is offered each year as a way for ice cream industry professionals to network and learn more about topics relevant to ice cream. There are a variety of sessions, with topics like policy, ice cream market trends, and advancements in technology and formulation.

As someone newer to the ice cream industry, I was very excited to get the chance to attend Ice Cream Technology and share a new perspective on this conference. First of all, it was really neat to see such a diverse group of industry professionals, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with excitement and innovation. From R&D to formulation and processing experts, marketing, purchasing, and even equipment suppliers, a sampling of nearly every part of the ice cream industry was represented, each with a unique perspective.

The sessions were informative and engaging, but most importantly, I had the opportunity to sample a wide variety of unique and delicious ice cream creations. What ice cream industry event would be complete without ice cream sampling?! At each conference, IDFA invites participants to submit new and innovative ice cream flavors for a contest judged by the conference attendees. The concepts were not only innovative, but also truly tasty, each one pushing the boundaries of flavor and texture. Sometimes it only takes a small twist to make an ice cream concept feel brand new.

And lastly, the networking opportunities were fantastic, allowing me to connect with like-minded individuals and forge valuable connections within the ice cream industry. I would highly recommend this to anyone that is part of the greater ice cream industry. Whether you’re from a large manufacturer, or a small brand just getting into the market, this event is for you!
